Welcome to another MAN Marketing Minute. I’m Ed Mallof. Today we’re going to talk about the reviews. Why they just might be…the most important thing you can do for your business online.
Reason number one. The obvious. You can shout from the mountain top about how great your company is, but reviews reflect how the people who have worked with your company actually feel about it. In today’s skeptical world, that goes a long way.
Reason number two. Google uses your reviews as part of the formula that determines how you will rank in searches. And it’s not a small part of the formula. It’s about ten percent. They factor in your star rating, the number of reviews you have and the velocity of your reviews. Velocity is a term that relates to how recent and frequent your reviews are coming in. Google believes that a business that is consistently getting new reviews is actively engaged with its’ customers and they see that as good.
Reason number three. Google reviews are FOREVER. A review you get today can influence a customer (positively or negatively) for years to come. So get on the review bandwagon and actively solicit reviews from your customers.
