What are Vehicle Ads and why are they going to alter the automotive marketing landscape? If you haven’t heard about Vehicle Ads yet, you’re missing out. Vehicle Ads, or VA’s are the latest innovation in Google’s ongoing evolution as the answer to all things digital.
The easiest way to understand what VA’s are is to think Google Shopping for cars. When a car shopper searches for a vehicle using Google’s search bar, Google uses artificial intelligence to find the best options for the shopper and serves them up in a carousel ad showing an actual photo from your website and the vehicle’s year, make, model and price.
Shoppers see the picture, fall in love and click on it. This lands them right on the Vehicle Details Page on your website. Car shopping has never been so easy! The dealership only pays when someone clicks on a vehicle from their inventory. Until now, dealerships were at the mercy of large automotive aggregators like Cars.com and Car Gugu to merchandise their off-brand inventory. Vehicle Ads have changed all that.
This is a new Beta program that Google is testing and refining before releasing it to everyone. The really big players like Carvana, Cars.com and Car Guru are already using Vehicle Ads. As the program continues its slow rollout you will see some Tier 3 dealerships getting onboard. Fortunately, MAN Marketing is among a select group of ad agencies participating in this initial Google test.
Because the program is in its infancy, the competition for clicks is low and so is the current cost per click. Our clients are reporting an average cost per click of less than a dollar! This is definitely a scenario where early adopters benefit greatly. Contact MAN Marketing at 630-929-5200 to level the playing field for your dealership!
