Meet Tony Locke, MAN Marketing’s experienced Art Director.
1. What do you enjoy most about being a part of the MAN Marketing team?
As part of the MAN Marketing team, what I enjoy most is being able to use my creative, artistic, and problem solving skills on a range of projects, such as logo design, direct mail, digital advertising and vehicle wraps. Every project is different and many often require collaboration with other team members, leading to new ideas and approaching challenges from a different perspective. The variety of projects keeps work interesting and allows me to hone my existing skills and learn new ones.
2. How do you stay motivated and creative in your work?
Maintaining motivation and creativity is a delicate balance that I prioritize by nurturing my well-being outside of work. Spending quality time with loved ones, indulging in hobbies, and seeking new experiences are vital for recharging my creative batteries. Within the workspace, setting clear goals and allowing myself periodic breaks revitalizes my perspective. Additionally, immersing myself in design communities and exploring diverse sources of inspiration online continually fuels my creativity.
3. How do you approach challenges and find creative solutions for our clients?
I start by doing my best to understand what the client’s goal is for a project. Once that is defined, I usually look for artwork that inspires a design for the project, and then develop that design using type and other art available. I may also collaborate with other team members to brainstorm ideas and/or solutions. All of this leads to designing one or more mockups to present to the client for feedback leading to a final design.
